Dear brothers and sisters in Islam, we have embarked on a journey today to learn and understand the soothing and powerful duas for protection from the Holy Quran and the teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). For each duaa, we will present the Arabic text, followed by its transliteration and translation, ensuring that this post is both enlightening and easy to follow.
Ayat-ul-Kursi (Quran 2:255)
Ayat al-Kursi, also known as the Verse of the Throne, holds a significant place in our faith. Located in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:255), it is one of the most powerful verses of the Holy Qur’an.
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized the importance of this verse in several hadiths. One of the many benefits of Ayat al-Kursi is its inherent protective virtue. In a hadith narrated by Abu Huraira and documented in Sahih al-Bukhari, the Prophet (PBUH) said:
“When you go to your bed, recite Ayat-al-Kursi, (2.255) for then there will be a guard from Allah who will protect you all night long, and Satan will not be able to come near you till dawn.”[1%5E]
This hadith illustrates that the recitation of Ayat al-Kursi at night invites divine protection from Allah, safeguarding the believer from evil influences.
Another aspect of protection attributed to Ayat al-Kursi comes to light in a hadith mentioned in Sunan An-Nasa’i:
“Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: ‘Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi immediately after each prescribed prayer, there will be nothing standing between him and his entering Paradise except death.'”

Note: Muawizatayn – the last two Surahs of the Holy Qur’an, comprised of Surah Al-Falaq (The Daybreak) and Surah An-Nas (The Mankind) play a major role in enveloping us in divine security against evils of all nature, including the malevolent gaze or ‘evil eye’. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) guided us to recite these Surahs regularly for achieving abundant protection against visible and invisible forces of harm.
