Translation: Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest. O Allah, let the crescent moon appear over us with security, faith, safety, and submission (to Allah). My Lord and your Lord is Allah. May this be a crescent of guidance and goodness.

Dua for Ramadan Fasting | The Intention to Fast

Intention is essential for every act of worship, and fasting is no exception. This intention is made silently before dawn (Suhoor):

نَوَيْتُ صَوْمَ غَدٍ عَنْ أَدَاءِ فَرْضِ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ لِلَّهِ تَعَالَى

Transliteration: Naweytu sawma ghadin ‘an ada’i fardi shahri Ramadan hadhihi as-sanati lillahi ta‘ala

اللهم لك صمت، وعلى رزقك أفطرت، ذهب الظمأ، وابتلت العروق، وثبت الأجر إن شاء الله

Transliteration: Allahumma laka sumtu wa ‘ala rizqika aftir, dhahaba adh-dhama’u wabtallati al-‘urooq, wa thabatal-ajru in shaa’ Allah
Translation: O Allah! I fasted for You, and I break my fast with the sustenance You have provided. Thirst is gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is certain, if Allah wills.

Dua for Ramadan | Laylatul Qadr

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

Transliteration: Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa‘fu ‘anni
Translation: O Allah, You are forgiving and You love forgiveness, so forgive me.
