In Islam duas or supplications play a vital role in seeking protection from harm. They serve as a medium for Muslims to seek refuge in Allah and plead for His divine protection. Here is an important dua for protection from harm.
Dua For protection from Harm
The Prophet (SallaAllahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said that reciting this supplication three times in the morning and evening will protect a person, such that nothing can harm him, and no calamity shall befall him [1] (Dua For protection from harm to be recited 3 times)
Bismillahil-ladhee la yadhurru ma’as-mihi shai’un fil-ardi wala fis-sama’i, wa Huwas-Samee’ul-`Aleem.
In the Name of Allah, Who with His Name nothing can cause harm in the earth nor in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing
Dua For protection from Harm
One powerful Dua for protection from harm, especially from enemies, is:
The transliteration of this Dua is: “Allaahumma ‘innaa naj’aluka fee nuhoorihim wa na’oothu bika min shuroorihim.” The English translation would be: “O Allah, we make Thee our shield against them and take refuge in Thee from their evils.”
Dua For protection from Harm
Dua from the Hadith – Jami` at-Tirmidhi [2058]:
Transliteration: “A’uuzu bi-kalimaatillahit taam-maati min sharri ma khalaq.”
Translation: “I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.”
Dua For protection from Harm
The life of Prophet Ayyub (Peace b upon him) is a testament to unyielding faith, immense patience, and unwavering trust in Allah’s Mercy in the face of adverse circumstances and pain. Allah s.w.t recounts the testing of Prophet Ayyub (pbuh) in Surah Al-Anbiya [21:83-84]:
“And [remember] Job, when He called to his Lord, “Truly distress has seized me, but you are the Most Merciful of those that are merciful.
So We listened to him: We removed the distress that was on him, and We restored his people to him, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who worship Us.”
The story of Prophet Ayyub (pbuh) is a beacon of hope for us all during challenging times. His tale is a divine reminder that inner strength, resilience, and unwavering faith in Allah’s mercy is crucial in the face of hardships. It is also essential to remember that a believer’s relationship with Allah is not determined by worldly afflictions, but by devoutness, trust, and resilience in supplication.
May Allah s.w.t. endow us with the patience of Prophet Ayyub (pbuh) and the strength to face our trials with unyielding faith and reliance on Him. Aameen.
