Dua for marriage in Islam | 9 Duas

by zOrca

Marriage is one of the most significant and life-changing events for any Muslim. It is a beautiful bond between two individuals who embark on a journey of love, compassion, and devotion to Allah SWT. However, finding a righteous spouse and building a successful marriage requires sincere effort and the blessing of Allah SWT

In this post, we will explore duas for marriage that can help in finding a suitable partner and bring blessings and happiness into your married life, In -sha- Allah. With reverence and humility, we will delve into the Islamic teachings that underpin this dua and how they can strengthen our faith during challenging times.

Allah SWT knows best

It is through dua that we recognize our utter dependence on Allah, acknowledging His infinite wisdom and power. We understand that everything in this universe, including our destinies, lies within His divine control. Our belief in destiny, or qadr, teaches us that Allah has a perfect plan for each and every one of us. He knows what is best for us, even when we may not fully comprehend the wisdom behind certain events or circumstances that come our way.

During times of uncertainty, trials, or hardships, our faith in destiny offers us solace and comfort. We find reassurance in knowing that Allah is the best of planners, and that every obstacle we face is an opportunity for growth and spiritual elevation. Our belief in destiny reminds us to surrender ourselves to the will of Allah, trusting that He knows what is ultimately best for us, both in this life and the hereafter.

The reward for our dua

Furthermore, our dua is not without immense rewards. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Nothing repels decree except supplication, and nothing increases lifespan except righteousness.” Through our sincere and heartfelt supplications, we can seek Allah’s forgiveness, blessings, guidance, and protection. We humbly ask for His mercy and support in our endeavors, understanding that the rewards for our supplications are not limited to this worldly life. Rather, our dua holds the potential to open the doors of eternal bliss in the hereafter.

Dua for marriage in Islam 1

“O Allah, I ask You because I bear witness that there is no god but You, the One, the Eternal, who neither begets nor is born, and none is comparable to You. Fulfill my needs, alleviate my solitude, ease my distress, and grant me a righteous companion so that we may abundantly glorify and remember You. You are ever watchful over me.

“Yalla’huma, inni as’aluka bi-anni ash-hadu annaka anta alladhi la ilaha illa anta, al-ahad assamad alladhi lam yalid wa lam yulad wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad, iqdi hajati, wa-ans wahdati, wa-farrij karbati, wa-ij’al li rafiqa salihan ki nusabbihuka kathiran wa nadhkuruka kathiran, fa-anta bi masīra.

O responsive One, when the distressed calls upon You, untie my knots and reassure my fears. O my God, to whom shall I turn if not to the Mighty Support, who, when called upon, answers. Grant me a righteous spouse from Your presence and instill between us love, mercy, and tranquility. You are capable of all things.

O One who says “Be” and it is. Our Lord, grant us goodness in this world and in the Hereafter and protect us from the punishment of the Fire. O Allah, send peace and blessings upon our Master Muhammad, his family, and his companions. O Allah, O Enabler of the strong for the weak, the one who commanded the jinn and the wind for our Prophet Solomon, the one who commanded the birds and the iron for our Prophet David, and the one who commanded the fire for our Prophet Abraham. O Allah, make for me a spouse who fears You, O Lord of the worlds, through Your power, strength, greatness, and might. You alone are capable of that, and there is no partner for You.”

O Allah, I complain to You about my weakness, my limited resources, and my humiliation among people. O Lord of the worlds, You are the Lord of the weak and the most Merciful of the merciful. You are my Lord. To whom do I turn if not to You? Is there anyone else who can alleviate my troubles? If You are not angry with me, I do not care about anything else as long as Your blessings are with me. I seek refuge in the light of Your face, through which darkness is dispelled, and through which the affairs of this world and the Hereafter are set right, from Your anger descending upon me or Your wrath befalling me. To You, I submit my complaints until You are pleased.”
