Dua For Laziness | Istiatha From Laziness

اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الهم والحزن، والعجز والكسل والجبن والبخل، وضلع الدين وغلبة الرجال

Transliteration: “Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min al-hammi wal-hazan, wal-‘ajzi wal-kasli wal-jubni wal-bukhli, wa dala’id-dayni wa ghalabatir-rijal”

Translation: “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, from helplessness and laziness, from cowardice and stinginess, from overcoming of debt and from the domination of men” (Bukhari)

Dua For Laziness | Ask Allah For Guidance In Actions 

اللهم إني أسألك الهدى والتقى والعفاف والغنى

Transliteration: “Allahumma inni as’aluka al-huda wat-tuqa wal-‘afafa wal-ghina

Translation: “O Allah! I ask You for guidance, righteousness, chastity, and riches” (Muslim)

Dua For Laziness And Istiaza from a Prayer That Is Not Answered 

اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ العَجْزِ وَالكَسَلِ

Transliteration: “Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min al-‘ajzi wal-kasal”

Translation: “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness.”

“والبُخْلِ وَالهَرم”

Transliteration: “Wal-bukhli wal-haram”

Translation: “And from stinginess and old age.”

“وعَذَاب الْقَبْر”

Transliteration: “Wa ‘adhab al-qabr”

Translation: “And from the torment of the grave.”

“اللَّهُمَّ آتِ نَفْسِي تَقْوَاهَا”

Transliteration: “Allahumma ‘ati nafsi taqwaha”

Translation: “O Allah! Grant my soul its piety.”

“وَزَكِّهَا أَنْتَ خَيرُ مَنْ زَكَّاهَا”

Transliteration: “Wa zakkiha Anta khayru man zakkaha”

Translation: “And purify it – You are the best One to purify it.”

“أَنْتَ ولِيُّهَا وَموْلاَهَا”

Transliteration: “Anta Waliyuha wa Mawlayaha”

Translation: “You are its Guardian and Lord.”

“اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلمٍ لا يَنْفَعُ”

Transliteration: “Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min ‘ilmin la yanfa’u”

Translation: “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit.”

“ومِنْ قَلْبٍ لاَ يخْشَعُ”

Transliteration: “Wa min qalbin la yakhsha’u”

Translation: “And from a heart that does not fear (You).”

“وَمِنْ نَفْسٍ لاَ تَشبَعُ”

Transliteration: “Wa min nafsin la tashba’u”

Translation: “And from a soul that is not satisfied.”

“ومِنْ دَعْوةٍ لا يُسْتجابُ لهَا”

Transliteration: “Wa min da’watin la yustajabu laha”

Translation: “And from a prayer that is not answered.”

This supplication implores the Lord’s refuge from detrimental qualities such as incapacity, laziness, stinginess, old age, and the torment of the grave. It also seeks the purification and piety of the soul, beneficial knowledge, a fear-consumed heart, satisfaction of one’s soul, and that one’s prayers be answered. This prayer serves to remind us to seek persistently the Mercy of Allah, acknowledge our weaknesses and aspire to draw nearer to Him by recognizing and rejecting impediments to our spiritual progress.

Dua For Laziness | When Trying To Perform Prayer Or Athkar

اللهم اعني على ذكرك وشكرك وحسن عبادتك

Transliteration: “Allahumma a’inni ‘ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni ‘ibadatik”Translation: “O Allah, help me remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You in an excellent manner” (Abu Dawud)

Dua for Laziness and Istiaza From Fitna 

للَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ العَجْزِ وَالكَسَلِ، وَالجُبْنِ وَالبُخْلِ وَالهَرَمِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ القَبْرِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ المَحْيَا وَالمَمَاتِ»

In Allah’s infinite wisdom, we find an arsenal of powerful supplications passed down from our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Let us explore this poignant Dua in parts, allowing its restorative essence to wash over our hearts as we seek its understanding. May each enlightened word grant us solace and tranquility.

“للَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ العَجْزِ وَالكَسَلِ”

Transliteration: “Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min al-‘ajzi wal-kasal”

Translation: “O Allah, I take refuge in You from incapacity and laziness.”

“وَالجُبْنِ وَالبُخْلِ وَالهَرَمِ”

Transliteration: “Wal-jubni wal-bukhli wal-haram”

Translation: “And from cowardice, miserliness, and old age.”

“وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ القَبْرِ”

Transliteration: “Wa a’udhu bika min ‘adhabi al-qabr”

Translation: “And I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave.”

“وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ المَحْيَا وَالمَمَاتِ”

Transliteration: “Wa a’udhu bika min fitnat al-mahya wal-mamat”

Translation: “And I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death.”

This sacred plea implores us to seek refuge in Allah from the vulnerabilities that often befall us – incapacity, laziness, cowardice, stinginess, the tribulations of old age, the torment of the grave, and the trials of life and death. In this supplication, we find a humbling reminder of our frailties and the adversity we may encounter in our earthly journey and beyond.

Dua For Laziness | Asking For Barakah In Time

اللهم بارك لي في الوقت

Transliteration: “Allahumma barik li fi al-waqt

Translation: “O Allah, bless me in time”

Dua For Laziness During Studying | Seeking Beneficial Knowledge

“رَبِّ زدْنيِ عِلْمًا”

Transliteration: “Rabbi zidni ‘ilman

Translation: “O Lord, increase me in knowledge” (Quran 20:114)

Dua for Laziness | Evening Zikr

One of the great treasures of our faith comes wrapped in the form of supplications our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to recite. Let us explore this beautiful Dua in parts, drawing warmth and comfort from his blessed words. May they serve as a soulful lighthouse illuminating our nights with radiant guidance.

“ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا أمسى قال”

Transliteration: “An rasulu Allahi sallallahu alaihi wa sallam idha amsa qaal”

Translation: “Whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would reach the evening, he would say”

“أمسينا وأمسى الملك لله، والحمد لله”

Transliteration: “Amsayna wa amsal mulku lillah, wal hamdu lillah”

Translation: “We have reached the evening, and the kingdom belongs to Allah, praise be to Allah.”

“لا إله إلا الله، وحده لا شريك له”

Transliteration: “La Ilaha illa Allah, wahdahu la shareeka lah”

Translation: “There is no deity except Allah, alone, without partner.”

“اللهم إني أسألك من خير هذه الليلة وخير ما فيها”

Transliteration: “Allahumma inni as’aluka min khayri hadhihi allaylah wa khayr ma fiha”

Translation: “O Allah, I ask You for the goodness of this night and the goodness within it.”

“وأعوذ بك من شرها وشر ما فيها”

Transliteration: “Wa a’udhu bika min sharruha wa sharri ma fiha”

Translation: “And I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil within it.”

“اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الكسل والهرم وسوء الكبر وفتنة الدنيا وعذاب القبر”

Transliteration: “Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min al-kasal wal haram wa suu’ al-kibar wa fitnat al-dunya wa ‘adhab al-qabr”

Translation: “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from laziness, senility, the trials of this world, and the punishment of the grave.”

Narrated by Muslim.

The evening descends, painting the world with a majestic hue, reminding us of the Almighty’s dominance over all creation. As we breathe in the hush of twilight, may His words drape our hearts, helping us to seek the good in everything and refuge from all hardship. The night is His and so is light.
