Duaa for Seeking Refuge from Sadness, or if fearing someone

Ibn ‘Abbas said, “Whoever has a worry, sorrow or grief or fears a ruler, should use this supplication and he will be answered. It is: ‘I ask You by (the words) “There is no god but You, the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the Immense Throne” and I ask You by (the words) “There is no god but You, the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the Immense Throne” and I ask You by (the words) “There is no god but You, the Lord of the seven heavens and the seven earths and what is in them. You have power over all things.'” Then he should ask for what he needs.”

As’aluka bila ilaha illa anta, Rabbu as-samaawati as-sab’i, wa Rabbu al-‘arshi al-‘azheem. Wa as’aluka bila ilaha illa anta, Rabbu as-samaawati as-sab’i, wa Rabbu al-‘arshi al-kareem. Wa as’aluka bila ilaha illa anta, Rabbu as-samaawati as-sab’i wal-aradheen as-sab’i wa ma feehinna, innaka ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer.
