Best Dua for Wealth | Focus on AlAkhira

by zOrca

Best Dua for Wealth | During our journey through life, it is crucial that we not lose sight of the ultimate purpose of our existence: to serve Allah (s.w.t) and strive for success in the Hereafter (Akhira). While living in this temporary world, the Dunya, it is easy for our attention to become consumed by worldly matters and desires. Nevertheless, a beautifully profound Hadith reminds us of the importance of prioritizing the Akhira and highlights the outcome when we neglect it.

Understanding the balance between the temporal world (Dunya) and the everlasting life (Akhirah) is a fundamental aspect of our faith. It opens our eyes to the transient nature of worldly success and makes us realign our aspirations according to the divine will of Allah s.w.t.

One of the lessons we learn from authentic Hadiths is that focusing solely on the pursuit of worldly wealth and material gains can divert us from the true purpose of our existence.

Hadith About Wealth

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) taught:

“Whoever has the Hereafter as his main concern, Allah will fill his heart with a feeling of richness and independence; he will be focused and feel content, and worldly gains will come to him despite his reluctance. And whoever has this world as his main concern, Allah will cause him to feel constant fear and anxiety; he will be scattered and have no focus, and nothing will come to him except that which was already predestined for him.” (Narrated by Ibn Majah)

Such an illuminating Hadith directs us to channel our efforts toward securing a place in Jannah, because when we truly prioritize the Akhira, Allah (s.w.t) will ease our worldly affairs and bless us with contentment.

By regularly engaging in acts of worship, striving to gain knowledge of our religion, and treating others with kindness and empathy, we can actively prioritize our eternal abode. Remember to frequently recite supplications (duas) seeking Allah’s guidance and assistance, not only for our Dunya, but more importantly, for the Akhira.

Through the wisdom embodied in this Hadith, let us always maintain a heart that seeks Allah (s.w.t) and finds refuge in the promise of the everlasting reward of paradise. Through our endeavor to secure that ultimate reward, may we find solace, contentment, and tranquility in the trials and uncertainties of this temporary world. Ameen.

Best Dua For Wealth 1 | Praying for dunia and akhira

From the noble Qur’an, we find a dua that beautifully encompasses both our life in this world and the Hereafter:

“رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ”

“Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil ‘akhirati hasanatan waqina ‘adhaban-nar”

“Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!” (Al-Baqarah, 2:201)

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) also taught us a supplication seeking refuge from worldly trials and punishment in the grave:

“اللهم إني أعوذ بك من فتنة الدنيا، وعذاب القبر.”

“Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min fitnatid-dunya wa ‘adhabil-qabr.”

“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the trials and tribulations of this world and the punishment of the grave.”

Another hadith reported by Muslim gives us a comprehensive dua against any knowledge, heart, soul, or supplications that do not benefit us:

“اللهم إني أعوذ بك من علم لا ينفع، ومن قلب لا يخشع، ومن نفس لا تشبع، ومن دعاء لا يستجاب له.”

“Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min ‘ilmin la yanfa’, wa min qalbin la yakhsha’, wa min nafsin la tashba’, wa min da’watin la yustajabu laha.”

“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, from a heart that does not entertain the fear (of Allah), from a soul that is not satisfied, and the supplication that is not answered.”

Translation: “They [Allah] are the owner of all sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whomsoever You will, and take sovereignty away from whomsoever You will; You exalt whomsoever You will, and bring low whomsoever You will. In Your hand is all goodness, indeed You are powerful over all things. You are the Most Merciful of this world and the hereafter, and You give mercy to whomever You will and withhold mercy from whomever You will. Have mercy on me in a way that is sufficient for me and that renders me needless of the mercy of anyone but You.”
