In this blog post, we will explore ten great benefits of Surah Baqarah, as supported by Islamic teachings:

Surah Baqarah Benefits | Powerful Intercession on the Day of Resurrection

Surah Baqarah has been recognized as a powerful intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the importance of reciting the Quran, as it will come to intercede for its faithful reciters on the Day of Judgment.

In a Hadith in Sahih Muslim, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) stated, “Recite the Quran, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who recite It. Recite the two bright ones, Al-Baqarah and Surah Al ‘Imran, for on the Day of Resurrection they will come as two clouds or two shades, or two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading for those who recite them.”

Surah Baqarah Benefits | Protection from Evil and Shaytan

Reciting Surah Baqarah acts as a means of protection from evil and Shaytan. The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught that reciting specific verses within Surah Baqarah, including Ayat al-Kursi and the beginning and ending verses, serves as a shield from Shaytan and prevents his influence from reaching the reciter and their family.

In Sahih Muslim, it’s reported that the Prophet (pbuh) said, “Everything has its pinnacle and the pinnacle of the Quran is Surah al-Baqarah. Whoever reads it in his house during the day, Shaytan will not enter his house for three nights, whoever reads it at night, Shaytan will not enter his house for three days.”

Surah Baqarah Benefits | Protection and Safeguard against Black Magic and the Evil Eye

Reading Surah Al-Baqarah is considered an effective guard to get rid of evil spirits, and nullifies envy and hatred. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, “Whoever recites the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him” (Bukhari). These verses are a means for protection, peace, and sufficiency.

A hadeeth narrated by Imaam Muslim (may Allaah have mercy on him) that Abu Umaamah al-Baahili said: “I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: ‘Read the Qur’aan, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection to intercede for its companions [those who read it]. Read al-Zahrawaan (the two bright ones), al-Baqarah and Aal ‘Imraan, for they will come on the Day of Resurrection like two clouds or like two shades or two flocks of birds spreading their wings, pleading for those who recite them. Recite Soorat al-Baqarah, for taking recourse to it is a blessing and giving it up is a cause of loss, and the magicians cannot confront it.”

I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter.” Reciting the longest surah in Quran, is an opportunity to increase rewards.

Surah Al Baqara protects the home from the harm of demons, and they flee from the place where this Surah is read and never enter it. According to the hadith, Satan does not enter a home where Surah Al Baqara is recited.
